Inland BALI
Even in the most touristic places you may discover the real life (better, some sides) of its inhabitants. When in Bali for instance, turn your back to the crowd who gathers in the beaches of Kuta and head for the interior.
You would find that their life flows quite unchanged from the past and that this smiling people doesn't really cares for western seductions.
Bali is a Hindu island in a Muslim archipelago so it's hardly surprising that they cling to their traditions in order to preserve their identity. And very rich heritage they have: gamelan music, dancing, marionet theater, all this they practice for their pleasure, unperturbed by the foreigners.
Anche nei posti più turistici puoi scoprire la vera vita (o meglio, alcuni aspetti) dei suoi abitanti. A Bali per esempio, volta le spalle alla folla che si raduna sulle spiagge fuori dagli alberghi e dirigiti verso l'interno..
Potresti scoprire che la loro esistenza scorre pressochè uguale al passato e che questo popolo sorridente non si lascia molto tentare dalle seduzioni del mondo occidentale.
Bali è un'isola Hindu in un mare islamico così non è poi sorprendente che i balinesi siano così attaccati alle loro tradizioni: ne hanno sempre avuto bisogno per preservare la propria identità. E che ricche tradizioni: praticano la musica gamelan, la danza, il teatro delle marionette, solo per il loro piacere, imperturbati dagli stranieri.
